30 Days of Veterinary Care!

When you adopt a pet from Animal General, for 30 days from the day you take your new kitten or cat home, their veterinary care is covered by us for routine care such as booster vaccination appointments, diarrhea, or other non-surgical illnesses such as upper respiratory infections that may arise. This does not include a kitten's spay or neuter.

Adopt May & June!

cat for adoption

May & June, two spayed female kittens born September 2009

May& June were rescued with their 3 littermates (adopted!) and healthy mother from euthanasia at Animal Control just days after being born. They are adorable black and white female kittens who would love to live together forever. Because they've been at Animal General almost since birth, they are extremely friendly and very well socialized. They love each other and other cats.

Adopt Mia!

Mia, spayed female born late 2008.

Mia was brought to us by someone who found her in their front yard limping. We assume that she was probably hit by a car because she had a broken pelvis. Mia was on cage rest for 6 weeks while we waited for her to heal and is now running all over the place. She's a little lady who can eat like a horse. In fact, that's her number one complaint in life now that her little bones have all healed - there simply isn't enough food in the world. She's very feisty and not particularly fond of other animals. Mia would be perfect in your house in the country where she has plenty of room to run and maybe even some field mice or birds to run after. She's very, very active and besides being queen of a farm, she'd love to be with people who appreciate her spunkiness.

Adopt Smudge!

Female Cat for adoption

Smudge, spayed female born 2005.

Smudge is a young cat that was saved from euthanasia with her 7 kittens. After giving birth, she came down with pneumonia, which she passed on to her little ones and all the miracles of modern medicine could only save mother and two identical kittens. Her kittens have been adopted and now Smudge just waits for a loving home. Smudge has a beautiful voice and has a funny way of making sure your hands always make their way to her ears. She is a very affectionate kitty and a true lady. Smudge would love to be a solitary cat in a home with active people.

Adopt Goldie!

female cat

Goldie, spayed female born approximately 2005.

Goldie was found on 110th Street in December 2005 and has been living at Animal General ever since. She is a stereotypical tortoise-shell cat: temperamental, nervous, and sassy. Her favorite place to get away from everyone is the stock room, so a home with no other animals would probably be just fine although she has recently befriended Paloma (also for adoption). If you understand tortie attitudes, Goldie would be a great cat for you!

Adopt Scarface!

male cat for adoption

Scarface - neutered male born 2004.

Scarface was found in Yonkers in 2005. He was beaten up with scratches all over his face, hence his name. After a full recovery, Scarface has been lounging all over the practice for several years and has been one of our resident blood donors. Like Stinky, it's time for Scarface to leave his life of service and find a nice home and people to call his very own. He could even be adopted with Stinky, if you want to keep 2 friends together. His early years on the streets have made him a tough guy and he will tell you when he's done with being loved, but we know he will be very appreciative of a patient home with less going on than at Animal General.

Adopt Stinky!

male cat for adoption

Stinky (aka Clancy), neutered male born 2003.

Stinky was found in a box back in 2005. He had a urinary obstruction from grit and other crystals in his urethra. After a surgery to unblock him was unsuccessful for the long-term, Stinky had a perineal urethrostomy. This surgery removed his penis and a larger diameter opening was created for him to urinate. Stinky has been symptom-free of urinary tract infections or blockages since this surgery in March 2005. He has been welcoming clients at the front desk and has been one of our resident blood donors for the past 4 years, but it's time for Stinky to retire from his life of service at Animal General and find a loving home. He likes other cats and is so easygoing that he'd be happy in pretty much any home. We hate to separate him from Rupert, a permanent resident, but are confident the perfect family will keep him from being homesick.
