Adopt Lilly and Willow!

kittens for adoption

Long-haired kittens born early-April 2010.

Lilly is a calico female who has no fear. Willow is a white and tabby male who loves to chase his own tail. There is one problem with people knowing you work at a veterinary hospital... you often wake up to find cats in carriers on your front porch. Sure enough, Lilly and Willow were left on a front porch only to end up at Animal General. Lilly and Willow are beautiful long-haired cats and are FeLV/FIV negative.
Give them a forever home to run and play in!

Adopt Winkin and Nod!

kitten for adoption

Born April 20, 2010. Winkin is a black and white female. Nod is an all-black male.

Winkin and Nod were found on a running path in a park in a box when they were 3 days old. Our TLC Coordinator, Barbara, became the mother. She bottle bed them every 4 hours, stimulated them to eliminate, and bathed them when they were dirty. Now it's time for them to become a part of your family. Because they have been raised by humans, they are extremely friendly and super affectionate. They will need to be spayed/neutered in October. Please love them and let them grow old with you!

Blinkin, the other black and white kitten in the photo has been adopted. Thank You!

Adopt Anna and Frances!

kitten for adoption

Anna and Frances - spayed females born mid-March 2010

Anna (tabby) and Frances (all-black) were found outside at 2 months old. Rumor has it these little kittens were bought to kill rats and were left outside to fend for themselves. "The Karens" took their socialization on as their project and now Anna and Frances won't stop snuggling! They would be amazing kittens in any household where they will get lots of human affection and they'd even be great with children. We insist that they be adopted together because they've been through a lot and cry when they are apart. Let us show you how much we love to have our bellies rubbed!

Adopt Dewey!

Dewey - neutered male born late 2009

Dewey was crying outside an employee's apartment building and so, like many before him, he was scooped up and brought to AG. Dewey is approximately 8 months old, LOVES people and other cats, and is a very handsome orange tabby. He's neutered, FeLV/FIV negative. Please give Dewey a home!

Adopt Triumph!

lab for adoption

Triumph - spayed female born approx. July 21, 2009

Triumph was found with her littermate (Victory - adopted!) in a taped box in a public bathroom in Central Park on September 11, 2009. A park ranger found the pair and rushed them to us. Triumph had such severe flea anemia that she was on death's door. Our blood donor, Lionel, donated some blood and brought this little lady back to life. She was feral but after a rough start enough loving here at Animal General has convinced her that people can be pretty nice after all. Triumph is a shy and hesitant lady, but loves to be petted. She's one of those cats who forms a very strong bond with her person and grabs your hand with her paw if you stop petting her. We'd like to find her a quiet home with another cat or two where she can be safe and warm forever.

Autumn gave birth to 5 kittens and was found under a car. She and her babies were saved from euthanasia and brought to AG. Her kittens have all been adopted and now Autumn deserves a home of her own. She's a sassy tortie who loves to be picked up and sit in your arms. She has been known to jump from the desk onto shoulder just to be cuddled. Autumn can go to a home with 1 other cat, though she'd prefer to be alone, but absolutely no dogs.

Adopt Smudge!

Female Cat for adoption

Smudge, spayed female born 2005.

Smudge is a young cat that was saved from euthanasia with her 7 kittens. After giving birth, she came down with pneumonia, which she passed on to her little ones and all the miracles of modern medicine could only save mother and two identical kittens. Her kittens have been adopted and now Smudge just waits for a loving home. Smudge has a beautiful voice and has a funny way of making sure your hands always make their way to her ears. She is a very affectionate kitty and a true lady. Smudge would love to be a solitary cat in a home with active people.

Adopt Goldie!

female cat

Goldie, spayed female born approximately 2005.

Goldie was found on 110th Street in December 2005 and has been living at Animal General ever since. She is a stereotypical tortoise-shell cat: temperamental, nervous, and sassy. Her favorite place to get away from everyone is the stock room, so a home with no other animals would probably be just fine although she has recently befriended Paloma (also for adoption). If you understand tortie attitudes, Goldie would be a great cat for you!

Adopt Stinky!

male cat for adoption

Stinky (aka Clancy), neutered male born 2003.

Stinky was found in a box back in 2005. He had a urinary obstruction from grit and other crystals in his urethra. After a surgery to unblock him was unsuccessful for the long-term, Stinky had a perineal urethrostomy. This surgery removed his penis and a larger diameter opening was created for him to urinate. Stinky has been symptom-free of urinary tract infections or blockages since this surgery in March 2005. He has been welcoming clients at the front desk and has been one of our resident blood donors for the past 4 years, but it's time for Stinky to retire from his life of service at Animal General and find a loving home. He likes other cats and is so easygoing that he'd be happy in pretty much any home. We hate to separate him from Rupert, a permanent resident, but are confident the perfect family will keep him from being homesick.
